BOISTER RETURNS TO NIGHTCAT
By Travis Mamone
The legendary Boister returned to NightCat in Easton, MD on Oct. 24,2009.
Led by singer/pianist/accordionist Anne Watts, Boister takes the cabaret sound of Brecht and Weil, and adds a modern twist. With their excellent musicianship, clever songwriting, and exciting live shows, they are one of Maryland’s most popular and critically acclaimed bands ever.
Boister played NightCat last summer to promote their latest album Some Moths Drink the Tears of Elephants. The show drew one of NightCat’s biggest crowds, and was standing-room only by the end of the night.
The band recently played their 13th Anniversary show at the Creative Alliance in Baltimore with special guests Liz Downing, Caleb Stine, Laure Drogoul, David Beaudouin, and Jenny Keith. Besides celebrating thirteen years together, Boister also paid tribute to the legendary producer Jim Dickinson, who passed away this summer. Dickinson produced two of Boister’s albums: Pieces of Milk and Some Moths Drink the Tears of Elephants.
