Milton, DE, May 8, 2010 – Delaware Beach Life publisher/editor Terry Plowman will speak on “Writing for the Local Magazine Market,” on May 8 at 11 a.m., at the Blue Ocean Restaurant, 200 Broadkill Road, in Milton, Delaware.
Sponsored by the Eastern Shore Writers’ Association, this program is free and open to the public. An optional networking lunch (at attendee’s expense) follows the presentation.
Terry will share valuable tips from an editor’s point of view: Do editors prefer queries or finished stories? How is a magazine story different from a newspaper story? Which topics do editors find most intriguing? Aspiring and established writers alike will find value in Terry’s presentation, which will detail how he edits submissions, if he is open to accepting writers’ photography, as well as details ranging from lead times to author compensation.
Delaware Beach Life readers have embraced the magazine since its inception in 2002.
